TGIF!! Today is the start of my mini post series called “Dorm Decor.” From here until the end of August is the prime “back to school” shopping season– and if you’re going to college, this means more than just new highlighters and spiral notebooks. What I’m really talking about here are dorm decorations. It is completely up to you to transform all of that ugly carpet and pasty cinder block walls into something fabulous! It should be comfortable, cozy, and fit your personality and style to the fullest. It is, in fact, your new home away from home. It’s definitely overwhelming, but once you start looking into decorations, you’ll be surprised at how easy it is to find cute, inexpensive items that will make your room a happy and fun place to be. In the spirit of brainstorming, I thought I’d share my picks for dorm room bedding, pillows, inspirational prints, and crazy decorations! Stay tuned in the next month for all of these posts and more!
In the last week or so, I’ve had a lot of conversations with my friends about dorm room bedding. Your bed is the center of your room and oftentimes the first thing people see when they walk in. Do you want fun florals, a bold pop of color, or soft ruffles? Or do you have absolutely no idea?! That was me last year when I started college. So as I’ve been looking for my bedding for this year, I’ve collected a few of my favorites (along with the best places to shop for bedding!) and wanted to share them all!
Looking for something soft and subdued? This dainty Waterfall Ruffle Duvet Cover is fit for a fairy princess bed. The girly ruffles add beautiful texture as well. And if this color isn’t doing it for you, it also comes in plum, grey, and white! (I have it in white at home and just love it!)

So this website is amazing because you can buy the whole bedding set in one packet. It’s literally called “dorm bed in a bag.” How easy is that?! They have dozens of adorable color schemes, patterns, and pillow sets. We love. This one is the Lime and Navy Designer Teen & Dorm Bed in a Bag.
Anthropologie is a go-to for bedding. They are so well made and especially cozy. This beautiful periwinkle Rivulets Quilt looks like a dream. It comes in seven other colors including mint, which is also unbelievably beautiful. Don’t mind if I do!
Navy and white is a crisp, clean, and classic color combination for bedding. This Clover Reversible Duvet Cover shows just that. The print is bold and reversible!!
Lilly Pulitzer bedding. With lace trip and a monogram pillow. Enough said. This Lilly Pulitzer Sister Florals Duvet Cover is all kinds of perfect. All of my favorite colors in one print! It also comes in the other Lilly patterns, “checking in blue,” “chin chin sparkle pink,” “first impression hotty pink,” and “luscious daiquiri pink.” Definitely a stand out.
I hope seeing my bedding selections has helped you in some way to know what direction you want to go! Or do you already have your bedding? I’d love to see it! Check back soon for all of my decorative pillow choices that would go oh-so-well with these duvets! Happy dorm room shopping!
