Interested in learning about the concept behind these Cocktail Hour posts? Take a look at the first Cocktail Hour I did— it explains them well! I am now going to be doing one monthly, so I’ll be sharing one of my favorite outfits from the month as well as all of my best (and worst) memories, moments, products, etc. from the month! This one covers December through mid-January. 🙂

Cocktail of the Month:

Our beach club in Vero Beach served a signature drink from a beach bar that was literally on the beach during the holidays. It was called the “Tipsy Turtle” and entailed Malibu Coconut Rum, Myers Dark Rum, Triple Sec, and pineapple juice. That’s it! It would be so easy to recreate and was a fan favorite during our whole trip.

Life Updates:

It’s been a minute! Since my last Cocktail Hour, I’ve had about two months of wonderful holiday craziness! We had a “faux Christmas” in our home in Pennsylvania because we were in Vero Beach, Florida for actual Christmas. We didn’t want to deal with bringing presents down to Vero and we love how cozy our new home is during Christmas soo much that we wanted to have our Christmas morning traditions there. 🙂 It actually ended up working out perfectly because we had a “Christmas morning” full of family time and gifts in PA and then on the true Christmas morning on the 25th we enjoyed the sunshine and fresh air and church in Vero– sans a ton of gifts. I love hearing how every family’s holiday traditions are so different and unique to their lives and schedules and we really loved this option for us this year so I thought I’d share!

I did a few Christmas-y activities in New York City with my boyfriend and girlfriends– including seeing Frozen on Broadway (adorable and hysterical!), having a Secret Santa gift exchange, and spending lots of time in Christmas jammies watching Hallmark movies and The Grinch. My roommates and I also hosted a holiday party and had way too much fun with Christmas champagne punch, all the yummy dips and cheeses, holiday décor overload, fresh garland everywhere, and 25-ish of our friends in Philadelphia! We’re thinking we need to make it a tradition…

I left for Vero Beach on the 21st of Christmas and had a full 10 days of working out (I’m getting back into BBG!), reading for fun, detoxing (with a slice of pizza & a splash of rosé here and there ?), celebrating Lilly Pulitzer’s Beach Bash in Palm Beach, filling out my 2019 planner and organizing my life, and dancing in the new year on the beach. I honestly didn’t work (besides taking and editing photos because that’s my happy place) and it was just what my body and soul needed. I was there with my family the whole time and then my boyfriend, Johnny came down right after Christmas and stayed at his house in Vero Beach but hung out with my fam the whole time. We played pickleball together, had the most delicious meals, and took lots of long walks and bike rides. I just love it there SO much and was so bummed to leave on January 1st.

I am now two weeks back into “real life” and have to say that the first few days back were rough (see my pit below)! But I had a wonderfully restful first weekend of the new year, a relatively normal first full work week, and then a hysterical, wine and snowflake-filled time this past weekend in Washington, D.C., while visiting my Big and Little from my sorority (who just so happen to be two of my favorite people just about ever).

Pit of the Month:

My flight back from Florida on the 1st was delayed so I didn’t end up getting back to my apartment until 1:30 am. Which means I only got about four hours of sleep by the time I had to wake up for work. On top of that, I felt like I got hit with a ton of bricks mid-way through the day and flu-like symptoms came on so quickly. They lasted the next four-ish days, during which I felt like I was barely keeping my head above the water catching up in all aspects of my life… Ah, coming back from vacation, am I right?! I’m happy to say that I took the weekend to fully rest up (lots of sleeping in), organizing and de-cluttering everything, and catching up on work and with friends. I am feel much better and all around am hopefully back on track for a much better and healthier January :).

Peak of the Month:

My parents treated Johnny and I to our own date at The Tides in Vero Beach (as a Christmas gift to the two of us), which is our favorite nice restaurant to go to when we’re there. It was so wonderful to have it just be us two and to dream up everything we wanted to do in 2019 (and after that!). Though quality time isn’t my first love language (it’s Johnny’s!), our time together over “break” made me appreciate him more than ever.

Wellness Tidbit of the Month:

I had a phenomenal experiences at the Ageless Skin and Laser Center in Sewell, NJ in December. They’re located about a half an hour outside of Philadelphia and provide customized facial and body treatments. I am going back again this week and cannot wait to share what I received and what my results have been. In the meantime, check out their services and consider treating yourself to a facial to kick off 2019 with a fresh and glowing complexion!

Favorite Thing Seen on the Internet this Month:

My shows! The Bachelor is starting back up (my favorites are Erika and Hannah G so far…) and I am mid-way through the second season of Dynasty. I can only really keep up with about two shows at a time (I’m pathetic that way!) but these have been making me so happy to have as mindless entertainment. They also are 100% the reason I have been able to start up the Bikini Body Guide again without wanting to give up mid-workout! If you’re not watching Dynasty already, I cannot tell you how much I recommend it! You would like it if you loved Gossip Girl back in high school…

Best Deal of the Month:

Here are three sales that are going on right now that I’m perusing…

I loved getting to catch up through this Cocktail Hour! I’m so glad I’m switching them to a monthly cadence so I can share a really thorough post that rounds up my life as of late. Expect the next one at the end of February, so I can start the pattern of publishing it at the end of every month. Let me know if there are any additional sections or questions you’d like to see included! xx
